Milbemax Dog and Milbemax Dog Small/Puppy have been developed to deworm your dog or puppy. Regularly deworming is easy with the small, regular or tasty tablets that kill most common worms in dogs. The worming tablets, with the active ingredients milbemycin oxime and praziquantel, kill roundworms, hookworms and tapeworms.
When Milbemax is given monthly, it also protects your dog against heartworm disease (Dirofilaria immitis), an infection that is transferred by stinging mosquito's. So when you travel with your dog in heartwom areas, such as Southern- and Eastern Europe, check if prevention of heartworm disease is indicated.
Worming is of great importance: to keep your dog, yourself and your family, healthy, it is important to deworm your dogs regularly. Worms can make your dog and especially your puppy seriously ill, you don't want this to happen. Depending on the kind of worm, worms make a tour through the animals body and can damage organs such as the lungs, liver andÃÂ intestines, possibly leading to obstruction, diarrhea or vomiting. Worms also have an adverse effect of the animals resistance, will cause inflammation and lower the effect of a vaccination. Of course you want to protect your dog against all kind of parasitic infections, but keeping your animals free of worms is also better for the health of all the other members of the household.
It is wise to deworm all adult dogs up to 4 times a year or sometimes even more depending on the risk of infection.
