Beaphar Anti-Myiasis Spray to combat myiasis (maggot disease) in Rabbits and Guinea pigs.
Myiasis in Rabbits and Guinea pigs is mainly caused by faeces or urine sticking to the back. This mainly attracts the blue-green blowfly (Lucillia sericata) to lay eggs there. The maggots from the eggs eat through the skin and cause blood poisoning and infections. The animal can die within 24 hours. The use of Anti-Myiasis is recommended during the period when the blue-green blowfly is active.
Depending on the weather conditions, this is usually from April to November.
Please note, this product kills the eggs and maggots of the fly, but not the adult fly itself.
If you notice maggots on the animal, you should contact the vet immediately.

Indication

Other animals, especially dog breeds such as Collies, Old English Sheepdogs, Shelties and Bobtails

Dosage
Read the instructions and packaging before use.
Remove any feces and ensure good hygiene in the cage. Spray the correct amount (see table) on the back of the animal. Start under the tail / between the hind legs. Then from the tail to the middle of the back. Bathing can reduce the effectiveness of the product.
Dosage: Body weight in kg | Number of times to spray
0.5 - 1.0 kg: 5 x spray
1.0 - 1.5 kg: 7 x spray
1.5 - 3.0 kg: 9 x spray
> 3.0 kg: 15 x spray
During the period that the blue-green blowfly is active, treat monthly. Depending on the weather conditions, this is usually in the months of April to November.
Do not repeat the treatment within 4 weeks.
Composition
Active ingredients: Ivermectine 0,05% (0,5 mg/ml)
Side effects
Central nervous system depression with effects of apathy, decreased appetite, mydriasis (enlarged pupils), ataxia (disruption of movement and balance), muscle tremors and salivation.
Warnings
Avoid contact with skin and eyes
Wear gloves during application
In case of contact with skin or eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water Do not eat or smoke during use
Keep out of reach of children
Store in original packaging at room temperature
